“Enough is enough. Fire me, am tired of your constant harassment. You cannot frustrate me for 17 years in Kakamega, all because my husband is from the Luhya community.

“You are narrowing down on me because my husband is a fellow officer. You cannot keep posting me to a place where I do not benefit. I do not want to use my weapon unlawfully,” the officer cried out.

She went on to beg for help for Kenyans as she was from a poverty-stricken family.

“I hope Kenyans are watching me suffer. I have lived in poverty while living with my grandmother in Turkana. Let them issue me with an official resignation letter. I came here in 2009 and I am ready to quit.

“Let my bosses in Jogoo, Nairobi, know that I have been frustrated enough as they keep posting me to safeguard containers. I am so stressed. I want to go and rare camel and sheep in Turkana,” she stated.

She further asked IG Mutyambai and Interior CS, Fred Matiang’i, to act swiftly before she goes berserk and misuses her weapon.

“I have children who look up to me. I do not want to lose my family. I am not corrupt. I do not take bribes. I have complained a lot but my pleas have been futile as my bosses look down upon me every day,” she explained.

Cases of troubled police officers have been in the spotlight.

In April 2019, former Olympic champion, Asbel Kiprop, 29, dared his National Police Service bosses to sack him and withdraw his firearm before he uses it to “earn justice”.

The former athlete cum police officer was showing signs of depression after he was suspended for using banned performance-enhancing substances.

IG Mutyambai met him and promised to look into the mental and psychological health of the police officers.
