Adios! – Churchill Show comedian quits TV show

Churchill Show comedian Eddie Butita has announced his exit from NTV’s The Trend show.

The funnyman took it to his social media pages to announce his departure after five years of being on the show.

Butita thanked the current show host Amina Abdi and the rest of the panelist for being more just colleagues.

He explained that he decided to leave the show to give a chance to other talents looking for an opportunity to grow.

“It has been 5 years of a good ride on the trend #TTTT. It all started with just one appearance and became a permanent job. I would like to thank @aminaabdirabar and the panelist team for being more than colleagues our time together was worth it. I learned, laughed, and changed a lot that I was able to. It is time to give chance to other talents to get an opportunity to grow and shine with greatness,” he said.

He went on to thank the TV station for walking with him through the journey as well as the former show host and now current BBC reporter Larry Madowo for believing in him.

Butita promised his fans he still has more content in store for them as the departure from the show was just the beginning of his comedy career.

“Special thanks to NTV Kenya for the opportunity we are still together in this journey. Thank you @larrymadowo for believing in me and giving me the first chance to be on the show the rest was history. Big thanks to my fans; I have got more in store for you. This is just the beginning of another chapter in my comedy career,” he added.

Butita is one of the most followed comedians in Kenya and has performed in many shows such as Night of a Thousand Laughs, Kenya’s Biggest Laughs, The Hot Seat, Kenya Kona Comedy, Crazy Monday Comedy Night among others.
