Former Miss Universe New Zealand finalist Amber-Lee Friis has been confirmed dead at 23.
Model talent agency, Talent Tree confirmed the news through a Facebook post showering her as beautiful and talented.
“It is with immense sadness we acknowledge the sudden passing of a beautiful and talented Wahine Amber-Lee Friis,” Talent Tree wrote.
The statement continued, “Amber-Lee was one of our original models for the Talent Tree and a finalist in 2018 Miss Universe New Zealand. Our sincere condolences to Amber-Lee’s family and friends. RIP beautiful lady.”
According to Fox News, a New Zealand Police representative confirmed to attending a sudden death but gave no further details.
Miss World New Zealand’s Official Facebook page lead tributes from all around the world to praise the deceased for outstanding performance in the Miss World New Zealand Competition.
Miss World New Zealand CEO Nigel Godfrey paid tribute to Friis in a Facebook post.
“…She had a great deal more to give and it is a dreadful tragedy that she won’t be here to realize her unlimited potential. RIP Amber Lee, you have left us far, far too soon,” read Godfrey’s post in part.
