Singer and actress Avril dismissed a fan who claimed online content creator and Tik tok sensation Azziad revived her song dubbed Hello Baby which had long been forgotten by her fans.
This came after the Nikimuona singer appreciated Azziad lip-syncing the song that she featured Tanzanian singer Ommy Dimpoz as she posted her on her Instagram page.
One fan going by the name Samantha Chilante (her social media name) claimed that it was all started by Azziad on Tik Tok. She went on to claim that everything the Multimedia University student touches turns into gold.
“It was started by #Azziad on Tik Tok…..everything Azziad touches ….sells like hot cake. You need to appreciate her for adding value to your song…not like Femi One who trashed her. Even though it’s very clear that people both local and internationally knew UTAWEZANA song after Azziad did the hot dance with it,” she claimed.
Samantha went on to state that the song dubbed Utawezana done by rappers Femi One and Mejja only became a hit after she danced to it and that was how many people came to know about it.
She claimed that other big songs had lost value and were only remembered after Azziad danced to them. She went on to lecture the mother of one stating that Kenyans artists need to put their pride aside and always appreciate where its due.
She added that that was is the reason Tanzanian artists who do not even know how to speak in English well always get recognition internationally compared to Kenyan artists.
The singer responded to the fan mentioning that it would be lovely to make her point without insulting anyone in the process. She went on to tell the fan that acknowledgment was done a long time ago.
She advised her to go through her Instagram page to confirm her doubts. When the fan persisted on the issue, Avril cautioned her telling her that she was not being nice because she cannot equally be rude. She told her off by telling her to keep her advice to herself and go to sleep.
