Comedian Nasra gets married to boyfriend Rashid after three years together

Talented Churchill comedian Nasra Yusuf married her three-year boyfriend and love of her life, Rashid Abdalla, on Sunday, May 25th.

Nasra, however, kept her wedding news a secret until today. Going on her Instagram, she shared a beautiful photo of the couple during their wedding ceremony, clad in Islam regalia.

Nasra Yusuf was covered with decorative henna flower drawings as per the Muslim tradition and couldn’t hide her excitement in marrying her best friend.

“Oh yeah, guys, on the 25th of April, I got married to my best friend,” she wrote.

Speaking to a local blog, Nasra revealed that they made their union official in a small private ceremony with a few close family members in attendance.

She, however, said that the main ceremony would take place once the holy month of Ramadhan comes to an end.

Nasra and Rashid are familiar household names for their hilarious jokes on Churchill’s number one comedy show.

They met three years back while auditioning for the Churchill Top comic show, and as Nasra put it, ‘fell in love the minute they laid eyes on each other.’

The two have dated ever since and have a joint Youtube channel dubbed ‘Nasrashid’ where they prank each other and give us glimpses of their blossoming love.

Rashid was over the moon when Nasra accepted his marriage proposal and opened up to his fans how he has never loved any other lady like he does her.

Director Rashid wrote on his social media that he proposed because he has never been happier than when he is with his wife.

“She said yes, Nasra Yusuf. I always remind you that I have never loved anyone more than I love you. Mi nikiwa na wewe mimi huwa na raha. Nataka hii raha niipate for the rest of my life” wrote director Rashid.

Nasra’s confession

During a past interview with Churchill, Nasra recalled how her parents wanted to marry her off to an older man.

Her mother was asking her to persevere, saying the man would die soon. However, a determined Nasra declined the offer and chose to pursue her comedy dreams instead.
