Twenty-one times Grammy award winner, American rapper Kanye Omari West has announced that he would run for president in 2020.
Through his Twitter account, Kanye, who has been a vocal supporter of President Donald Trump, said it is time to realize America’s promise by trusting in God, unifying vision and building the future.
“We must now realize the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our vision and building our future. I am running for president of the United States (US flag and exclamation mark with hashtag “2020 vision”)

It is not yet clear if Kanye is serious about the bid or if he had already filed required papers to appear in the Nov 3 election ballot papers.
Electric car maker Tesla’s Chief Executive Elon Musk was among the first people to show support to Kanye’s announcement.
Musk replied to Kanye’s tweet saying, “You have my full support!”

It is not the first time for Kanye to announce his interest in the US President’s seat.
Last year at a New York business festival, Kanye told the crowds he would run for president in 2024.
In 2015 at an MTV Video Music Awards festival, Kanye said he had “decided in 2020 to run for president.”
