Popular gengetone rapper Odi wa Murang’a has landed himself in trouble after allegedly defrauding an upcoming artist by the name BClassic.
Bclassic is signed under Champions studios whose lawyers, Imbwaga and Yogo, confirmed that they were requested to file legal papers against boondocks gang member, Odi Wa Murang’a.
According to a report by BClassic, his team had paid Francis Macharia alias Odi wa Murang’a a sum of kshs 25,000 as a down payment for a song collaboration with Bclassic’s on his latest single dubbed Kototo.
The gengetone rapper was meant to come up with one verse of the song and also make an appearance in the video shoot in order to promote the song.
However, he went ahead and used the same verse in a different song which he was featured in by Wakuu music titled ‘bleki’.
Champion studios released a press statement early today demanding Odi wa Murang’a to pull down the song ‘bleki’ or otherwise refund them for the damages he has caused.
Odi wa Murang’a is famously known for his deep suggestive voice and his witty lines which makes almost every song he participates in immediately catchy.
He rose to fame in 2018 together with his team, boondocks gang, which is made up of Exray , Maddocks and himself because of their mad talent in producing major gengetone hits.
Some of the biggest songs they have worked on are; Rieng, taniua ft Bahati, Modo man, Madam, nirombosee, mavitu among many others.
They were once questioned about their vulgar and sexually provocative lyrics to which they answered stating that they mainly rap about issues directly affecting our current society.
“We promote neither drugs nor sex. We just reflect what happens deep in our societies and so far it has not affected us since it’s actually good content. If we will change our content or not, time will tell.” Said Boondocks.
