Baringo senator Gideon Moi has given a newly married couple a treat they will never forget.
During a visit to Iten in Elgeyo-Marakwet County on Saturday, November 27, the senator came across the lovebirds, identified as Lorna and Fred, exchanging their vows.
Couple lands in Moi’s chopper
In a move that caused quite a buzz online, Moi gave them a free ride in his chopper.
A video shared by The Standard on social media depicted the presidential hopeful walking towards a maroon chopper as a huge crowd of onlookers witnessed the moment.
He proceeded to open the door, and a bridesmaid, wearing yellow, alighted.
She was then followed by the bride wearing a lovely white gown, and Moi helped her descend from the chopper.
The groom followed soon after, and the newlyweds posed for a photo with the senator.
Social media users expressed mixed reactions after watching the one minute clip. Here is a sample of the comments:
Daniella Dalton Keith:
“Surely my land is Kenya.”
“It has made the couple’s day.”
Kelgaza De Dakta:
“He just gave them a ride. I initially thought he gifted them the chopper.”
“After all the fanfare, they will eventually separate.”
“He should have given them a cheque instead.”
