Former Citizen TV news anchor Jacque Maribe has opened up on her previous failed relationship with former fiancé Joseph Irungu popularly known as Jowie.
The former TV queen while speaking to True Love Magazine revealed that she met Jowie while at work and he was genuinely nice.
They dated for one year before he proposed to her something she admitted was rushed.
“We met with Jowie while on the job. Actually, some of my friends knew. We got engaged. He was very nice, he genuinely was. I will never come out and say anything to the contrary. He was very nice to me. I think this is why it is really important to first learn somebody before you rush into something like this because I do believe it was rushed,” she told True Love.
The Hotseat show host revealed that she had gotten to a point in her life where she thought she was ready to take another step in life.
Maribe disclosed that Jowie was not a guy who gave her too much pressure because she used to work a lot.
“I had found someone who finally understands the kind of woman who is passionate about her career hours and being a mother and you have a partner who understands that because it is very hard for us ladies to get an understanding partner. That is why people marry within the industry,” said Maribe.
The mother of one also disagreed with Jowie’s claim that the two broke up while Jowie was still in prison stating that the two called it off even before they were arrested.
The two were arrested and charged with the murder of the late businesswoman Monica Kimani after her body was found in her Lamuria Gardens apartment in 2018.
Maribe was released on bond a few months later but Jowie had to wait for almost two years to also be released on on bail. Jowie has since ventured into gospel music.
