Celebrated radio host and Kiss FM radio presenter Jalang’o, alias Heavy J, has finally put to rest how much the radio station is paying him.
Word going around is that Kiss FM was paying Jalas around ksh 1.2 m per month. However, the radio host rubbished those rumors. According to him, he has not yet discussed his pay with Kiss FM management. He, however, revealed that he is not working for free as he is also following his passion.
“How much? Hata hatujafika kwa discussing salary. I am just working for now,” Jalas revealed.
“I am not working for free. This is about doing something you like.”
According to Jalang’o, many radio stations approached him after he left Milele FM. He, however, chose to return to Kiss FM since he felt it was his home.
Jalas also revealed that he is impressed with how the show is picking on. According to him, in a few weeks, the show will be high in charts seeing he is working on his chemistry with fellow co-host Kamene Goro.
“For the first week, it is looking nice, it is amazing. Give us two more weeks. We go out and understand each other. It will be better.”
The boss was happy with me.
Jalas revealed that he met up with his boss, who was happy with him. He gladly accepted the job offer to work alongside Kamene Goro during the morning show.
“The boss was happy to see me, and I was happy to see my former colleagues. That goes to tell you that I did not leave Radio Africa badly.”
Previously, the radio king had worked alongside radio queen Caroline Mutoko. He acknowledged that times have changed; seeing shows are about connecting with listeners.
“Things have changed. Back then, there were no social media platforms, but now it has changed. We are making the show about the listeners. Now we want to do you.”
