Actor Brian Ogana popularly known as Luwi in the Citizen T.V. show Maria has shared what he plans to do after his stint at the local drama comes to an end.
In an Instagram interactive session with his fans on Saturday, January 9, 2021, the actor said that he was considering investigative journalism when the show ends.
In Kenya’s acting industry, it is believed that it is hard to lead a fulfilling life without other sources of income.
“Time will tell, but I’m considering embarking on investigative journalism,” he said.
Ogana has a passion for the media and entertainment industry and is a trained communication specialist.
He noted that he was thankful for the opportunity to showcase his talent as being an actor in one of the most popular programs on Citizen T.V. gives him a chance to try his investigative journalism skills at the same station.
He also pointed out that he enjoys a close relationship with news anchors Rashid Abdalla and Lulu Hassan, who are the brains behind Maria.
Before his role in Maria, he previously worked as a news anchor, host, and reporter at G.B.S. (Good News Broadcasting System).
He said one of the highlights of his media career was in 2016 when he was nominated and bagged the title of the best-dressed media personality.
Ogana’s impeccable sense of style only arrogates his role on the show, and that is what many young fans look up to him for.
Ogana joined the University of Nairobi to pursue a course in computer engineering.
However, he said he was not passionate about a career as an I.C.T. expert and decided to change his course to journalism.
Speaking during a past interview, Ogana recalled that his father had pushed him into computer engineering but had to leave the course when his friends reminded him of his passion for journalism and drama.
