Genge hit maker Mejja threatens to quit music after netizen branded him a conman

One of Kenya’s baddest hit maker’s Mejja Okonkwo has today threatened to quit producing music after one netizen chose to slander his name on social media.

Mejja announced the unfortunate news on his Instagram handle saying that he’s a man who cherishes his peace and as such does not entertain anyone lying using his name for clout.

According to Mejja, he may back off from releasing any music for a while so that people may stop talking about him.

The netizen who angered Okonkwo identified himself as an online podcaster.

He posted on his Facebook account, claiming that he had invited Mejja to his online interview, which he failed to attend.

According to the netizen identifying himself as Kevin Anyango, he paid Mejja 12,000 shillings upfront which he never does with any of his interviewees, and he failed to show up for the show nor offer any apology.

He accused ‘Lewa’ hitmaker Mejja for being arrogant, an extortionist, liar, opportunistic, naive and disrespectful.

“He is everything any person should never be. He never showed up, never apologised after numerous ignored calls and texts and then asked for 1500 for bundles. I told him I will go to the public with this.” wrote Kevin.

Mejja completely distanced himself from these claims stating that he does not know the person nor the money said.

He urged the netizen to apologise; otherwise, he would have to go to the authorities to report the matter.

“Mniwache nikule mimea na an amani, I do collabos for free ni interview nitaenda kuitisha pesa. Seriously, stop clout chasing with other people’s careers. Na hii imezidi, ntawacha kutoa ngoma kutulie vile naona napenda peace yangu,” wrote Mejja.

This is the second online altercation Mejja is being involved in after the saga involving artist Parroti Vunulu and Kiss radio.

Parroti had accused the radio station of favouritism after they insisted on having only Mejja in their interview leaving the other artists outside.
