Mike Sonko Pens Tearful Message on 24th Anniversary of His Mother’s Death: “Tears Still Flow”

Former Nairobi governor Mike Sonko has penned a touching tribute in memory of his mother, Saumu Mukami who passed on 24 years ago.

Going on his Instagram account, Sonko emotionally stated that the pain of losing his beloved mum is still fresh in his heart.

The politician expressed lots of gratitude to his late mother and asked God to continue resting her soul in peace.

“In loving memory of my lovely mum Saumu Mukami Kaimathari Mbuvi, It is so painful to lose a mother. It’s exactly 24years since you went to be with God. Your life made me all that I am and your death made me more sensitive to other people’s pain and suffering,” he wrote.

Sonko added that:

“Secret tears still flow when we think of you. Living without you is almost impossible. In life we loved you, in death we still do. We thank God for letting us be part of your life. We know you are still with us, watching over us. Your departure changed our lives completely and made us love you even more.”

Rashid Abdalla remembers late dad

As previously reported by Tuko.co.ke, Citizen TV journalist Rashid Abdalla shared a cute throwback photo of his late dad and wrote in the photo that he misses him dearly. R

He disclosed that he lost his father way back in May 1996 and he still finds it tormenting up to today.

He pleaded with his fans to intervene for God’s forgiveness on his dad’s soul. “May you find time to make a good prayer for God to forgive him in his death. May Allah protect him from the punishment of the grave and the punishment of fire. May the Lord make his tomb a better house than the rest of the house and Inshallah on the day of reckoning, he and I be given our book in the right hand,” he said.
