‘My happiness will be complete when I have a baby’. Wema Sepetu narrates her struggle to get a child.

In a recent interview with Clouds FM, former Miss Tanzania Wema Sepetu opened up about her struggles to get a child, which led her to gaining the massive body weight in the past years.

We came to know Wema when she became miss Tanzania in 2006 and later as she progressed to her acting years.

Back then she was highly defined by her slim figure and cheekbones.

However, as she got into a relationship with Tanzania’s biggest bongo star Diamond Platnumz, she gradually started adding weight, and within no time, the slender Wema was long forgotten.

It was in the interview held recently, that Wema disclosed that her trial to get children is what led to her gaining massive weight.

Wema would take medicines in the hope that she will conceive, but instead, the drugs imbalanced her hormones, making her add weight.

“People are aware that I have been struggling to get baby. My happiness will be complete wen I have a baby. I added weight in my struggle to get a baby. I used to take a lot of medicine that has had side effects on my hormones. The side effect was gaining weight.” Said Wema,

Miss Sepetu did not lose hope of getting a child and decided to travel to India to seek the solution to her infertility.

It was there that the doctors revealed to her that being overweight was what was undermining her progress.

According to the Indian doctors, Wema had a lot of fat lobbied around her uterus, which was making the conceiving process impossible.

Apparently, her weight also led her to developing an infection, which would have turned cancerous if not treated. It was there that she was advised to cut her weight.

The process of shedding her weight took her about six months. Here she used pills, changed the type of food she ate and transformed her lifestyle.

“I took pills and I underwent treatment for six months. It’s about food and lifestyle. I had counselling and therapy.” said Wema.
