Veteran actor and comedian Charles Bukeko alias Papa Shirandula lost his life a week ago, but Kenyans continue to mourn him.
In his honor, Churchill released never seen before photos of the funny man as he celebrated his life.
His wife Beatrice Bukeko went on the show and revealed how she met with her late husband. According to her, Papa was a God-fearing man, and he even sought help from a pastor before approaching her.
“We met in 2004 when he was just visiting some friends and pastors around the area we used to live in. We started meeting and talking, and one time he came through the pastor asking for my consent, and the relationship took off from there. He took me to Busia, and I met his family,” Beatrice said.
Later on, they got married in 2009. The couple got three beautiful children.
Abrupt and sudden death.
Papa passed on at the Karen hospital after suffering from Covid-19. However, his wife claimed her husband did not die of Covid. She instead blamed the hospital for negligence, adding that they did not take in Papa despite his deteriorating state.
Before his death, Shirandula had complained of feeling excessively cold. Later on, he developed breathing complications and passed away at the hospital’s parking lot.
He was an ardent football fan who was part of the AFC Leopard Football team fan club. During his youthful days, he played for Mumias Sugar Football club.
Papa was also the brains behind Citizen TV’s award-winning show ‘Papa Shirandula.’ Throughout his acting career, he has helped other artists nurture their talents, including Wilbroda, Awinja, Otoyo, and Jalang’o.
Papa Shirandula will go down as one of the most loved actors of all time. May he continue resting in eternal peace.
