We all know Denis Mugo, aka OJ, the famous Tahidi High star who graced our screens every Tuesday night, and in away got to end our days on a happy note.
The former Tahidi High actor recently opened up on an incident where his mother received fake news that a mob shot him dead. He went ahead to explain how inconsolable his mother was on receiving the news.
Speaking on OJ Flix, his new Youtube show, OJ spoke on cyberbullying and its effects on media personalities and celebrities in the entertainment industry.
OJ narrated the incident where cyber bullies had significantly affected his mother with fake news.
“This topic is very personal to me especially because I have been through it and it took me to a very dark place when the story was put out on social media.I was just at home relaxing when I got a call from my mother, who was crying uncontrollably,” OJ said.
He went on to explain how much he panicked before asking her what was wrong. His mother explained that she had just read an article that implied a mob shot him dead.
“When she called, she asked, who is speaking? Who is talking? because she read an article on social media that OJ, a Tahidi High actor, was among a gang that was gunned down for theft,” OJ said.
Oj questioned why bloggers find joy in disrupting other peoples lives.
“Why would you wake up in the morning with a goal of disrupting someone’s life?” OJ questioned.
The actor asked bloggers as well as social media users to verify news before publishing or sharing with other people. He pointed out that such news significantly affects the families of those who are victims of fake news.
OJ is just one of the many celebrities that have fallen victim to fake news peddled by bloggers.
