Legendary Actor Charles Bukeko alias Papa Shirandula’s wife has accused Karen Hospital of negligence.
Speaking in the renowned actor’s burial ceremony, Beatrice Andega said that the Hospital’s negligence contributed to his husband’s death.
According to the widow, the Hospital’s doctors didn’t attend to Papa in time as he died while still in the car in the Hospital after she rushed him to the Hospital.
She said the hospital didn’t treat his condition as an emergency, and they took long to admit him to the hospital as he died while they were still waiting.
The sad mother of three further disclosed that the health facility only carried a Covid-19 test ignoring malaria and pneumonia even after he insisted on being tested for Malaria, Pneumonia, and Covid-19, adding that with the current cold season, it’s possible Papa had pneumonia.
However, Ms. Andega described his husband as a very supportive and a responsible family man who supported her if she wanted to do a project.
Bukeko’s father also said that he is not satisfied with reports that his son died of Covid-19 and revealed he would be going to Nairobi to seek further explanation on events that led to his son’s untimely death.
The actor’s body was ferried from Nairobi to Funyula Busia County on Sunday night and was laid to rest on Monday morning at his Nanderema home in accordance with the government directives on burials amid Covid-19 pandemic.
His body was accompanied by two buses of mourners from Nairobi and was received by Busia County health officials.
The mourners were all screened under strict Covid-19 protocols.
The mourners from Nairobi spent the rest of the night and morning in one tent after arriving at the TV star’s home and were not allowed to mingle with other people.
The locals were also warned against mingling with them to avoid further spread of the contagious disease.
