Secular artist Akothee hints that she will be joining the gospel industry soon

Through one of her Instagram posts, secular songstress Akothee has hinted that she might soon be ditching the secular wagon to join the gospel industry.

The mother of five revealed that she has been having a strong urge to turn to gospel and that the transition might come sooner than you expect.

“I do gospel music straight from my heart and maybe soon, I will cross over. The calling is too heavy, my heart is willing but my body is weak.” Wrote Akothee.

Before her fame and money, the president of single mothers was a staunch church goer.

Akothee before and after her fame.

However, she decided to leave once she realized the hypocrisy of the church members.

Akothee narrated how her fellow church members turned their back on her when her marriage was failing and she needed them the most.

They would even use Akothee’s family’s problems as examples during sermons. Yet the same people approach her today asking if she remembers them.

This act hurt Akothee deeply and she decided to leave the church and join the world.

“Most of our church members turned their backs on me and even used my family challenges as an example during sermons and that’s why I left the church and joined the world.”

I do gospel music straight from my heart and maybe soon, I will cross over.- Akothee.

However, she maintained that she still has a close relationship with God as He is the one who held her hand when she was all alone and suffering.

Akothee added that she still goes to church but only to reunite with God instead of showing off her brand new clothes and cars like most people do.

“I still have a tight contact with My God, He walked with me even the parts that I thought would lead me to death. I actually go to churches where no one is driving. Some churches are so plastic that you even feel like it’s a show room where people come to show their latest car.” Wrote Akothee.
