Stay in your lane! – Ruth Matete calls out pastors who abandoned her after her husband’s death

Celebrated gospel songstress has come out to blast pastors who abandoned her after her husband Beloved John Apewajoye passed away and the scandal that followed her afterwards.

In a post seen by Kenyannews.co.ke, the former Tusker Project Fame winner disclosed that pastors kept their distance and did not want to associate with her at the time only to come back after her name was cleared from the scandal.

“When I was going through hell and high waters and scandal was my name, you turned and kept your distance. You only want to be associated with me when I am the star and being celebrated.”

“If there is something that hurt that time is when pastors I have ministered in their churches left me. In fact, some of them came up with prophecies during their live broadcasts saying that God showed them I would go to jail and that I was guilty,” she claimed.

She went on to note that she had picked her broken pieces and tried to move on but the men of God have been trying to reach her telling her they used to pray for her yet they avoided her like a plague.

She pointed out that they should stop pretending, choose sides, and stay in their lanes. She stressed out that she does not have to be loved by everybody.

Matete warned them not to message her as she was ready to take screenshots and post them on her social media pages as she was done with fake people and with religion.

Matete’s husband died in April 2020 from injuries sustained after a gas explosion at their home. He went on to spend a few days in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) before passing away.

The body had been lying at the Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) Mortuary since April after the Nigerian High Commission requested to have his body detained Nigerian government approved its release. He was buried in July.
