Pop singer Tanasha Donna has caused a stir online after publicly thanking her ex Diamond Platnumz for believing in her musical talent.
Tanasha was very grateful to Diamond for collaborating with her on their hitsong ‘gere,’ which emerged as the 7th most-watched Youtube song in Africa 2020.
The song garnered a whooping 22.2 million Youtube views, closely following Rayvanny’s ‘te amo,’ which was watched 22.4 million times.
Tanasha Donna made her debut in music barely two years ago and was very excited to be featured in the top charts alongside such great artists.
She did not forget to thank her fans who have supported her and helped her grow in her young music journey.
Diamond Platnumz was proud of his baby mama’s musical success and went on to comment, “Nj’s mommy!” followed by a fire emoji on Tanasha’s Instagram post.
Gospel singer Bahati was quick to show his support for the former couple. He mentioned that he liked the fact that the couple was now on talking terms.
Diamond and Tanasha parted ways 11 months ago, four months after their child Naseeb Junior’s birth.
In an interview with True Love magazine, the songstress revealed that they went separate ways because Diamond Platnumz seemed to have lost interest in the relationship. She tried to fix things for the sake of their son, but Diamond Platnumz put no effort in them, pushing Tanasha to call it quits and leave Tanzania for Kenya.
The two stayed without communicating for months until recently when Diamond started taking care of his son’s financial needs, as disclosed by Tanasha.
Tanasha’s musical career, however, did not end after leaving her celebrity boyfriend. She has since released three more songs, ‘liar’ ft Masauti, ‘na wewe,’ and Kalypso ft rapper Khaligraph Jones.
Other Diamond Platnumz songs that made it to the list of the most-watched African songs include ‘waah’ ft Koffi Olomide which has 25.1 million views and ‘jeje’ with 41.1 million views.
