A lady identified as Inatimi Joy has shocked people after going against the norms during her marriage proposal by going on her knees instead of letting the guy do that.
Real reason the lady went on her knees
When her man was going down on his knee to propose, she stopped him and instead knelt to accept the ring.
Sharing photos from the proposal on Facebook, her man, identified as Ineintiemo Michael Suotongha, showered Joy with love and sweet messages and asked fans to wish them well in their next level.
A Facebook user, Gborienemi Mark-Charles II while also celebrating the couple, revealed the reason tha made the lady stop him from kneeling when proposing.
According to him, she said it is against their culture for a man to kneel for a lady. Joy also stated that the guy was the man of the house, therefore, should never kneel before her.
“Please don’t kneel for me. It is against our culture for a man to kneel for a lady. Western education and civilization will not change the fact that you are the man of the house,” she said.
Gborienemi praised the lady for her standards, described her as a very humble and respectful person, and wished them well.

Another lady was recorded kneeling during a proposal because she believed her man was a king and she wanted to be crowned his king.
The lady, Adaeze Gift Okolie, announced the proposal news and described getting engaged as reaching the ‘semi-finals’ of getting married.
“I am getting married to my best friend, don’t see me as a stupid person because I knelt to accept his ring, he deserves it,” she wrote.
