What to do when you are feeling low,lonely and depressed


Let’s all admit it that we’ve all felt low or lonely at some point in our life. How more intense can that feeling be? These feelings can make you feel worthless, unappreciated and the list goes on. Be it that you’ve been heartbroken by a loved one or rather a friend has disappointed you or worst case one has lost their job.

These and many more negative feelings can make you iffy about everyone and everything in the world. Overcoming them is also not that simple; it requires effort and thought, but it is certainly possible. All you need is to give yourself time and space to heal, and little by little, these feelings will begin to go away.

What’s worse is how they tomahawk your emotional state living you all trapped in a shell of hopelessness, but what matters is not letting yourself drown in a state that will block your aspirations and goals. What good will that be? Whether you are consistently trying to overcome being single or lost, there are quite a number of things that you can do to improve your situation.

The following is a guide that will help you overcome negative feelings.

  1. Accept the Feeling

This is the most vital step to take from the beginning. Being in denial will not be of much help if you want to overcome what you are feeling. Like any other feeling, being low, depressed and lonely does not define who you are. Accept that the feeling will go away and you’ll be in a better shape soon.

2. Maintain and Enhance Relationships

If you wish to spend time with people that will make you feel better, then, by all means, do that. Suggest plans, go on lunch dates with your friends and do fun activities that will act as a distraction. Reach out to your family members or friends and open up about how you feel. You will be glad to have shared your thoughts and feelings. It is said a problem shared is a problem half solved.

3. Get Out Of Your Comfort Zone

One of the best ways of combating loneliness is by trying out brand new things. Try and learn a new skill; open up to a chance of new social connections. Try new experiences, and for sure you will not regret it.

4. Refocus Your Attention

If you keep thinking of how low you are feeling, then all your attention will be pinned towards the negative thought, which will make your situation worse. Engage yourself in activities that will gently nudge your attention towards positive feelings.
