Kinoti encouraged Muthoni to continue upholding good morals and standing up for what is right.

He also commended him for his courageous act.

“The DCI director encouraged Muthoni to continue upholding the moral value of standing up for what is right, even if it meant putting his career at risk,” a statement from DCI said.

Muthoni, then a driver with 2NK Sacco had reported students from Fred’s Grammar mixed secondary who had boarded his Nairobi-bound matatu at the Karatina bus stage for smoking bhang in the vehicle as they were headed home for midterm break.

Incensed by their unbecoming conduct, he drove them to the Sagana police station.

A day later he was dismissed by 2NK Sacco for spoiling the company’s reputation.
