Political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi has claimed that the anger in the Kikuyu community is manufactured by Deputy President William Ruto.
In a tweet, the analyst questioned the second in command’s bottom-up economy that he has been talking about.
He added that country under President Uhuru Kenyatta has improved while giving an example of coffee farmers.
He noted that during the Moi era, the price of Coffee per kilo was fifty cents, rose to Sh2.5 under the Kibaki administration, but currently, a Kilo of Coffee sells at Sh118.
“Kikuyu anger is manufactured by Ruto. Under Moi, the price of a coffee per Kilo was Ksh 0.5. During Kibaki’s second term, it shot to Ksh 2.5 per Kilo. Under Uhuru, the farmer is getting Ksh 118 per Kilo or 50 times under Kibaki. Is this BOTTOM-UP economics?,” said Ngunyi.
Ngunyi has been a fierce critic of DP William Ruto and his way of doing politics.
His remarks have time and again seen him be labeled as a tribalist but he has always stood to his ground saying that he is asking the GEMA community to speak in one voice.
Late last year, the political analyst attracted mixed reactions on social media after he claimed that the Kikuyus have a series of debts and they will start by paying off Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga with the presidency in 2022.
Ngunyi said since Jaramogi Oginga Odinga made the late Jomo Kenyatta President, his debt should have been paid first if he was alive.
The analyst also said Raila made former President Mwai Kibaki a head of state in 2002 and as such, he is the second one in line for repayment by the vote-rich Mt Kenya community.
This he said to mean Deputy President William Ruto should hold his horses since his political debt will be paid in 2032.
Raila is reportedly looking to vie for the presidency in 2022 following the fallout of President Uhuru Kenyatta and Ruto.
Ruto has severally blamed his deteriorated relationship with President Uhuru on the handshake and the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI).
Early this year, Mutahi again attacked DP Ruto saying that he has the perfect way of killing the second in command.
He said that the best way of dealing with Ruto is to simply take Kikuyus away from him as, without them, there is no Ruto.
