A man from Mwihoko Estate collapsed and died on the spot outside a cereal shop, Nairobi News reported.
According to witnesses at the scene, the unidentified man struggled before breathing his last, with neighbors failing to help due to COVID-19 fears.
Abel Karanja, a neighbor said he heard screams and upon arrival, he saw the lifeless body of the man a few meters from the shop.
“I heard people screaming and when I rushed I saw the body of the lifeless man lying few metres from the cereals shop,” Mr karanja said.
Ministry of Health officials dressed in Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) arrived at the scene and picked the body.
This comes barely a week after a man fell down and died after alighting from a matatu. The man is said to have traveled from Buruburu to Dandora Phase Three before falling down and dying on the spot.
On Tuesday, July 21, a police officer on duty guarding Equity Bank branch in Meru collapsed and died while in the washroom.
The officer’s body was picked by Ministry of Health officials and the banking hall was fumigated in line with COVID-19 prevention measures.
