Courts to charge suspects who hosted teenage orgy party with child trafficking

On Tuesday the 1st of December 2020, a Nairobi court ordered the organizers of the wild teenage orgy party to be charged with additional charges, including child trafficking.

Senior Resident Magistrate Caroline Muthoni at the Milimani Law Courts further denied the prosecution’s plea to detain the suspects.

The prosecution had requested the courts to detain the suspects for an additional five days as they investigate the case. According to them, the case was complicated and needed enough time for probing and extracting more details.

Instead, the courts detained the suspects (Millicent Muthoni Kithinji, George Kamau Muthoni, David Kibe Wambui,  and Michael Murega) for an additional day. This was after their seven day detention period elapsed.

According to the senior magistrate, the prosecutors only remain with investigating and collecting the suspect’s statements. They will also need to conduct a forensic analysis on the gadgets they picked from the suspects.

This, according to the senior resident magistrate, is only possible after the suspects have been charged.

“The suspects to be presented before the court on the 3rd of December, 2020, for plea taking,” the senior resident magistrate ruled.

The four suspects will be charged with child trafficking, exposing children to pornography, exploitation of children, among other charges.

According to the prosecution, the four held a house party at Mountain view estate, where 44 teenagers attended. The teenagers’ ages ranged from 13 to 17 years. Eighteen girls and 26 boys attended the party.

The teen party sparked outrage after cops found empty bottles of alcohol, bhang, and condoms in Miss Kithinji’s house.  The house reeked of Marijuana, a clear indication that the 44 teenagers were intoxicated on that fateful Saturday night last week.

Miss Kithinji’s son had invited the teenagers from different counties for what was allegedly a birthday party. However, everything did not go as planned as neighbours called the cops concerned over what was going on.
