Autopsy results have revealed the cause of death of Nairobi lawyer Elizabeth Koki. Koki’s house help found her dead in her bedroom in Syokimau, Machakos County, on 8th January.
Johansen Oduor, the Government pathologist, wrote the autopsy report. He revealed that Elizabeth Koki had suffocated to death.
“Someone suffocated her to death,” the report reads in part.
Mr. Oduor conducted a post mortem on the body of the deceased at Montezuma Funeral Home. He revealed that Koki had injuries on the mouth, which shows that her attacker gagged her.
Police officers have arrested Christian Kadima, a Congolese national, in connection with the murder. Detectives believe that he was the last person to leave Elizabeth Koki’s house the night she was murdered.
Preliminary investigations have revealed that Elizabeth Koki and Christian Kadima had a heated argument the day she died. Elizabeth Koki was allegedly annoyed because she had found some photos on Kadima’s phone.
When detectives interrogated him, Kadima claimed that Koki fell from the bed as they were arguing and hit her head. He also said that when he left her house, she was still unconscious. He then drove to the Nairobi Central Business District (CBD). While there, he met one of his friends and narrated what had happened.
The two allegedly parted ways after spending some time together. Kadima booked lodging at the CBD, and his friend headed to Riruta. Detectives apprehended him at the said lodging the next day.
“Detectives have finally arrested Christian Mwambay Kadima. He has been on the run since the wee hours of the morning, following the gruesome murder of a prominent city lawyer,” DCI posted on its Twitter account after the arrest.
Reports have shown that Christian Kadima is a wanted man. A court in Johannesburg issued a warrant of arrest for him. He allegedly assaulted a woman by the name Miranda Jacobs.
