Drama as police rough up popular politician in Nairobi streets (VIDEO)

A trending video of police officers roughing up politician Alinur Mohammed before they arrested him has sparked social media on Sunday the 20th of September 2020.

The police arrested him on the grounds of holding an illegal meeting. However, Alinur, who considers himself an aspiring 2022 MP, claimed he did not know why the cops were arresting him.

He further revealed that the police arrested him while at the Kamkunji grounds. At the time, however, he did not know where they would take him.

“I have just been arrested while at the Kamukunji Grounds. I don’t know where they are taking me to,” Alinur revealed.

From the video, you can see three police maltreating the politician who was in a maroon attire.

Breaking the rules.

“You have no authority to hold this meeting. Let us go to the station,” one of the cops told him before Alinur boarded the police car.

The police further added that his meeting had more than 100 people. However, the crowds defended him, claiming that they were not more than 100.

His supporters, however, did not want the police to arrest Mohammed and tried to plead with the cops. However, the boys in blue could hear none of their pleas as they escorted the popular politician to a waiting police car.

“This is our leader. Set him free please,” the crowd begged.

Alinur had gone to issue out food to the residents before the police showed up and disrupted the activity.

Mohammed’s arrest comes after political leaders continuously defy MoH Covid-19 regulations by holding large political gatherings. In recent weeks, Raila, Ruto and Uhuru have traversed the country holding several political rallies in the process.

Alinur’s moment of fame came after speculations that he was romantically involved with media personality Betty Kyalo. However, the two poured cold water on the allegations and further insisted that they were only close friends.

Here is the video.
