Florence Wairimu Muturi has been appointed the new Law Society of Kenya Chief Executive Officer, taking over from Mercy Wambua.
Wambua left office in January 2022 along with former LSK president Nelson Havi.
Wairimu was picked from a list of ten applicants in what the LSK Council says was through a transparent and competitive process.
She will serve for a period of three years with effect from June 2022.
LSK President Eric Theuri said her tenure is renewable once upon satisfactory performance.
“She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in leadership and management,” Theuri said.
Prior to her appointment, Wairimu was the acting Secretary/CEO of the LSK since her appointment in January 2022.
She is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya with over fifteen years’ experience, having been admitted to the Bar on 20th July, 2006.
Wairimu is a holder of a Bachelor Law Degree from Moi University, holds a Diploma in Human Resource Management and is a certified Public Secretary.
She has served the Law Society of Kenya since 2012 as a Program Officer in charge of Compliance and Ethics Department and subsequently as the Deputy Secretary/CEO, from 2016.
“The Council of the Law Society of Kenya congratulates Ms Muturi on her appointment and wishes her the very best in her new role,” Theuri said.
