I was taught how to quote Bible, not practice witchcraft, but you can continue doing it – DP Ruto responds to Raila

Deputy President William Ruto has responded to Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga’s attacks claiming that he is just a pretender using Bible quotes to impress Kenyans.

Speaking at his Karen residence where he was hosting a delegation of Clergymen from Narok County, DP Ruto said, unlike Raila Odinga, that all he was taught in his childhood days was quoting the Bible.

He added that he does not know to perform any kind of witchcraft but asked the ODM leader to continue practicing it to further his political career and leave other people alone.

“Last week, I heard Mtu wa Vitendawili (Raila) telling the people of Taita Taveta that the DP has been quoting the Bible even more than bishops do and he likes going to church to give donations.”
“Let him know I quote the Bible because that is all I was taught from a young age. If there are pages talking about witchcraft, then I am not privy to that, he (Raila) can continue doing it. He shouldn’t bother you,” Ruto said.

Last week, ODM leader Raila Odinga continued to attack the DP as the rivalry between the two political leaders continue to grow ahead of the 2022 general elections with both looking to replace President Uhuru Kenyatta once his final term is over.

Raila Odinga claimed that the DP Ruto’s money was not clean and uses it to fool Kenyans. He warned the Church to be suspicious about the DP’s money as it might be gained as a result of corruption.

He accused the DP of making big donations to women groups and buying wheelbarrows and water tanks to help Kenyan youths while his salary is much less than the money he pours every day.

“He walks around with money in sacks and pouring it all over in church every Sunday then quotes the Bible to prove how religious and philanthropic he is,” he said.
