The Inspector-General of Police has lost his assistant William Sing’oei who’s in charge of the Joint Operations Centre.
Sing’oei’s body was discovered at his house in Embakasi Barracks on Wednesday morning.
Augustine Nthumbi, Nairobi Regional Police Commander, confirmed Sing’oei’s death stating his colleagues had tried reaching him since Tuesday to no avail.
Following his prolonged absence, his juniors decided to visit his house. They broke his door and found his lifeless body lying on the bed.
According to a report by the Standard, some items recovered by police from the house include some drugs and a glass of water.
Medics are yet to establish the cause of his death. His body was taken to the City mortuary, where it awaits a post mortem to determine what led to his death.
The deceased has served as a mid-level manager for ten years and in the National Police Service for 19 years.
He was among senior government officials chosen to take part in the National Covid-19 emergency team.
