The Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) has put out a harsh warning to illegal Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) across the country.
This move comes after detectives attached to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), regular police, and EPRA officers raided two wrong premises. They include Tex Gas in Ruiru, Kiambu County, and More Gas in the Industrial area in Nairobi County.
During a crackdown, detectives chanced upon the two sites that continued refilling LPG gas without the authorization of brand owners.
“Two premises operating illegally remain shut pending further investigation. The culprits will face the full force of the law in accordance with the Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) Regulations 2019,” stated EPRA in a statement.
Additionally, the organization asked members of the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious refilling centers.
The agency further added they would continue to ensure Kenyans access safe and worth petroleum products in the entire country.
