Former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has said that he will continue to serve the people of Mombasa.
In a statement on Tuesday, Sonko who is seeking the Mombasa gubernatorial seat said not even the various interim court orders will slow him down.
The flamboyant politician insisted that the law is very clear, exuding confidence that he will have the last laugh.
“Hizi ma interim orders za kuni block hazitatu slow down tusifanyie wanainchi kazi. The law is very clear, let’s see who will laugh mwisho,” Sonko tweeted.
This loosely translates to, “These interim orders to stop me will not slow us down. The law is very clear let’s see who will have the last laugh.”
The former Nairobi governor’s remarks come amidst various petitions seeking to have him barred from vying for public office because he was impeached.
Individuals and lobby groups have been calling on relevant institutions to stop Sonko and former Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu from holding any public office.
