New Covid-19 cases in the country dropped slightly on Sunday after 246 people tested positive for the disease from a sample size of 2,484 tested in the last 24 hours.
This put the positivity rate at 9.9 per cent compared to 14.5 per cent recorded on Saturday.
The death toll remained at 5,651 as no death was recorded.
Health CS Mutahi Kagwe said in a statement the new cases are spread across 14 counties.
Nairobi has 191, Nyeri 17, Kiambu 9, Kitui 7, Garissa 6, Mombasa 4, Murang’a 3, Kisumu and Nakuru two each while Busia, Kisii, Kwale, Siaya and Turkana recorded one case each.
He said 202 patients recovered from the disease; 198 are from the Home Based and Isolation Care Program and four from various health facilities countrywide.
“This pushes the total recoveries to 320,566 of whom 267,491 are from the Home- 3 Based Care and Isolation program, while 53,075 are from various health facilities countrywide,” Kagwe said.
On admissions, the CS revealed that none of the 77 patients is in critical condition even though one patient is in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
He said 3,059 other patients are under the Home-Based Isolation and Care program while ten of those in hospital are in General Wards on supplemental oxygen.
Kenya has to date administered over 18 million vaccines across the country.
As at June 18, 2022, the actual number stood at 18,582,262 as the country remains on course to vaccinate 27,246,033 by December.
