Bishop was part of a large crowd marching on the streets against the murder of George Floyd. They were chanting “no more shootings.” However, midway, he changed the tune and started encouraging the other protestors to sing ‘haki yetu.’ He further explained to them that it merely means they are demanding for their rights.
The ‘haki yetu’ phrase is widely used by Kenyans when they are protesting.

However, residents decided to avail themselves in the fight against something that matters to them. According to them, surviving the coronavirus pandemic will not be of much use if their lives are in danger of racist murders.
Netizens also took the protests online under the hashtag ‘black lives matter’. Among them was a Kenyan, Alex Ndiritu. Alex threatened and mobilized Americans to burn down the White House to pass their message.
Ndiritu’s tweet sent the most powerful house worldwide in panic Mode. Consequently, President Trump issued stern warnings to anyone who would attack. According to him, state guards will shoot down anyone who comes as close as attacking the White House. He further placed the building on lockdown and beefed up security.
