Kiunjuri speaks after being sacked

  • I thank God and feel relieved – Kiunjuri
  • Kiunjuri was sacked in the recent cabinet reshuffle by President Kenyatta.

The Dropped Agriculture Minister Mwangi Kiunjuri spoke for the first time after being sacked by President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Kiunjuri spoke in a press briefing in Nairobi and said the decision did not come as a surprise to him. Kiunjuri said he is more relieved and thanks God for the past.

Kiunjuri said he has suffered humiliation as the Agriculture Cabinet Secretary and the President’s decision will make him more principled in his future undertakings.

“I thank God. I feel relieved. Having in the past gone through a most difficult year, that on a number of occasions threatened my energy and resolve. I have endured humiliation. I feel relieved, am now independent and will remain principled,” Kiunjuri said.

Kiunjuri further added that he cannot attribute the sacking to politics since President Uhuru is his friend.
