Laikipia Woman Rep shoots down allegations claiming she used to receive money from DP Ruto attack President Uhuru, Raila, BBI

Laikipia Woman Representative Cate Waruguru has poured cold water on reports claiming that she used to receive money from Deputy President William Ruto to attack President Uhuru Kenyatta and the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI).

Over the weekend, a certain online publication claimed that Waruguru and other legislatures used to collect Ksh. 50,000 in cash every Friday from DP William Ruto’s residence in Karen which totals to Ksh. 200,000 for each lawmaker.

It added that in a local TV interview, Waruguru explained that the essence of collecting the money in cash was to avoid any evidence of the transactions that were taking place.

The report said that once they had collected the cash, they were ordered to insult President Uhuru Kenyatta, reject BBI, attack Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga and heap praise of DP William Ruto all the time.

It noted that the Laikipia Woman Rep did not like the idea and she was doing it because she needed the money but it reached a point where she felt as if she was being used.

The news claimed that Waruguru said that some of the Members of Parliament do not have money and they have loans to clear which include the loans they took to buy cars and houses once they were elected.

According to the publication, after refusing to be used by the second in command, the lawmaker now is a free-thinker and she can do whatever she wants.

Wagurugu allegedly pointed out that any MP following DP Ruto is being paid to do so but there will come a time when they will regret their actions.

However, the outspoken lawmaker in a post dismissed the reports stressing out that the information appearing on the publication was incorrect.

She added that it did not come from her, her team, or her office and the public should treat the news as fake and not authentic.

She went on to state that she knows that there are a few people who have been paid to tarnish her name.

“If my name will make you put food on the table, take the money and always put a high demand. High enough because tomorrow they will not call you for the same,” read her statement in part.

Waruguru who was once a staunch supporter of DP William Ruto shifted her support to President Uhuru Kenyatta and his handshake partner Raila Odinga as well as the BBI.
