A war of words between Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi and business mogul Zedekiah Bundotich Kiprop popularly known as Buzeki broke out at a funeral on Friday, October 9, 2020.
Tensions started building up when Sudi started gesturing that the businessman was taking too much time, as Buzeki addressed mourners at the funeral.
Buzeki shot back at the MP and asked him to let him finish as he had been listening many times as he attacks him.
The Uasin Gishu gubernatorial aspirant instead praised the area, MP Swarup Mishra, for his development record and compared him to Sudi, claiming that he had done very little for his constituents.
Tension escalated when Buzeki gestured to the lawmaker, daring him to approach, and a fight broke out.
The two have been engaging in exchange of words with the businessman accusing the legislator of inciting Kenyans.
Buzeki has sworn to give Deputy President William Ruto and his political allies a run for their money in 2022.
He told members of the press earlier in the week that the DP allies should prepare for a tough battle in Kapseret because their political party, Chama Cha Mashinani (CCM), is going to have its candidates vying for all seats.
In 2019, Buzeki fell out with Ruto and joined the Isaac Ruto-led party.
The billionaire had reportedly helped finance Ruto’s campaign in the run-up to the 2017 General Election.
He has been quietly building up grassroots networks through various community-based programs in Uasin Gishu.
The aspiring politician contested with the Jubilee Party ticket for the Uasin Gishu Gubernatorial seat but was defeated by incumbent Governor Jackson Mandago.
He has intimated that he would vie again for the gubernatorial seat in 2022.
Apart from Buzeki, other politicians whose names have been listed as possible successors of the incumbent governor include Kesses MP Swarrup Mishra and his Soy counterpart Caleb Kostany.
