Nairobi County Ward representatives led by Mark Nga’nga ran in the middle of a live TV interview while criticizing Interior and Coordination of National government Fred Matiang’i after being teargassed by the police.
The MCAs called out Matiang’i after his visit at City Hall where he claimed to have disarmed 14 people their guns. This was after chaos erupted a few days ago where it left Mlango Kubwa MCA Patricia Mutheu nursing injuries inflicted by the Police officers.
One of the MCA claimed that they had been robbed and experienced all manner of humiliation in the County Assembly.
He went on to ask Fred Matiang’i to explain who had put at disposal of County Speaker Beatrice Elachi 30 fully armed Police officers around her. He claimed that everybody heard Elachi commanding the Police officers not to just strangle but to also shoot and kill members of the County Assembly.
He claimed that it was not the first time Beatrice Elachi had Police officers around City Hall to intimidate and gag members of the House.
Another MCA claimed that what the County Assembly had was a wounded lion while referring to Beatrice Elachi since Matopeni MCA and County Assembly Majority Leader Abdi Guyo was back as well as the Clerk Jacob Ngwele after being suspended.
Maringo Hamza MCA went on to state that the MCAs were angry after Matiang’i lied on national television that he had disarmed 30 people in the House.
He went on to tell Matiang’i to focus on the National Police Unit which has a lot of problems.
“Nataka kukwambia hivi bwana Matiang’i. Jana tumekasirika sana kwasababu ulidanganyana kwa national TV. Ukasea ya kwaba umedisarm watu kuna na nne. Saa hii umekuja kwa Assembly hapa ukiwa na General Badi. Na vile tu nilirudia, Badi sisi tunafuata vile rais alisema. Na Badi wewe uliappointiwa ukaambiwa wewe si mwanasiasa. Wachana na siasa ya Assembly. Na Matiang’i wewe, National Police kuna shida mingi sana ambayo inaendelea Bwana Matiang’I kwa Kenya security,” he said before taking off.
