Najma Ismail has been appointed to the Tourism Board, replacing Pauline Njoroge after a social media uproar.
Pauline Njoroge’s appointment was revoked on Saturday by Tourism Cabinet Secretary Najib Balala.
Najma Ismail currently works at Standard Group as the Editorial Liaison Manager. She additionally Kenya Education goodwill ambassador.
The non-profit provides scholarships to needy high school girls. She got the ambassadorial deal in August 2019.
Najma Ismail not only has an outstanding career, but she’s also among the few Muslim women who’ve managed to have a successful career in the media industry.
She describes herself as a girl and woman rights advocate. With over 15 years of experience in matters related to media, Najma Ismail has worked as a communications consultant, mentor, and content producer.
Other media companies she has worked for include Iqra FM, Radio Africa, and Sound Asia in Nairobi.
She holds a diploma in mass communication from the University of Nairobi. At the moment, she’s at Kenya Methodist University pursuing a degree in communications and Journalism.
