Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino felt the wrath of Kenyans when he claimed that he is the future of Kenya.
The controversial first-time MP took to his Twitter account where he posted a picture of himself while working from his office and the caption rubbed Kenyans the wrong way.
“I am the future of the great Republic of Kenya,” read his statement.
His post seemed to anger Kenyans who reminded the former Student Organization of Nairobi University (SONU) leader of his past including shooting B-Club’s in-house DJ Felix Orinda popularly known as DJ Evolve.
Since he shot the DJ, Kenyans have called out the country’s unfair justice system where rich people walk away with crimes and the poor rarely get justice.
On numerous occasions, they have called for Babu Owino to be sentenced after he was charged with attempted murder which carries a life sentence.
Despite CCTV footage showing Babu Owino shooting the DJ twice in the neck, the MP was released on bond and was ordered to pay for his hospital bills.
DJ Evolve was discharged from Nairobi Hospital last week after almost six months after being admitted.
In an interview, he explained that he had come to terms with what had happened and urged Kenyans to pray for him as he begins his recovery.
@Maureen234 – “Continue consoling yourself Mr, what you did is unforgivable, it’s even worse that you got away with it, trust me even getting an MCA seat won’t be easy as you might be trying to imagine…leadership wants people who have total control of themselves, something you lack.”
@Generalwaitina – “Ndio utuue sisi wote?”
@Emmanuelkimutai8 – “The future of DJ Evolve is uncertain after you shot him point black. Future murderer. Shindwe Saitan.”
@Mutichilomike – “If you the future then I don’t want to be in that future. It’s true the integrity alone won’t make you a leader but without integrity, you will never be one. @DPP why the special rules for attempted murder suspects?”
