ODM SG Sifuna defends Babu after DJ Evolve withdrew case against him, Kenyans tear him apart

Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party Secretary-General Edwin Sifuna has attracted backlash from Kenyans after he defended Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino following DJ Evolve’s move to withdraw the attempted murder charges against him.

On Friday 16 October, DJ Evolve through his family that was represented by their lawyer Kenneth Mumbo explained that the DJ wished to drop the case so that he could concentrate on his recovery.

“The family had been on an intense deliberation on a need to allow the complainant, Orinda to concentrate on his treatment rather than the pending case which was affecting his healing process due to divided attention,” Mumbo said.

Following the move, Sifuna took to his Twitter page wonder why Kenyans were so into the case whereas the person who was actually shot had changed his mind and withdrew the charges.

“The person who was actually hurt has spoken and said he doesn’t wish to press charges. But the Twitter DJ Evolve manufactured by the outrage industrial complex will have none of it. Who shot you?” Sifuna posed.

The tweet saw Kenyans express their disappointment as they tore him apart stating that he was being egocentric and did not care about Kenyans.

@Kijoba1 – “This is an ODM Party SG who will always tweet about Kiambaa Church victims for mileage but because a member of the party attempted to kill, lines have to be drawn. Weuh!
@CaptainDominicO – “Even if DJ Evolve has dropped charges it does not mean that Babu Owino didn’t shoot him. We will never forget the inhuman act!
@Simpewa – But you expect us to forget that some people you associate with killed innocent people in the church and went further to murder those who had offered to testify at the Icc?! Maajabu.
@BenjiNdolo – You are crooked AF, you’re in good company in ODM.

On July 8 this year, Sifuna has stressed out that the ODM party would kick out Babu Owino if he was found guilty of the charges against him.
