Police question Nyeri MCA over his wife’s death

Police questioned Konyu MCA, Eric Mwangi, over the mysterious death of his wife, Catherine Nyambura.

On 24th May, residents found the body of Catherine Nyambura in Hohwe Dam, Mathira. Detectives are trying to figure out the events that led to her mysterious death. For this reason, the police questioned the Nyeri legislator at Karatina police station.

The cause of Catherine’s death is still unknown.

Condolences

When the news of the death of the MCA’s wife broke, several leaders, including Deputy President William Ruto, sent their condolence messages.

“My heartfelt condolences to Hon. Eric Mwangi, MCA Konyu Ward in Nyeri County, following the death of your wife, Catherine Nyambura.May God give you strength as you mourn the mother of your two young boys. Rest In Peace, Catherine,” the Deputy President tweeted.

Other leaders also took to their social media platforms to console the Member of County Assembly. The Nyeri governor also sent his message and wished him well.

Detectives from the DCI have not given details on the state in which they found the body of the deceased. The investigations are still ongoing.

Last public appearance 

The last time Eric Mwangi made a public appearance was when he gifted one of his county residents with a plot of land. Her home had been destroyed by the floods.
