Politicians have marred the Jubilee war with dirty online fights, propaganda campaigns, and intimidation. They have resorted to using tactics that are not the norm.
Supporters of President Uhuru Kenyatta and those of William Ruto are trying to influence public opinion. They are using social media to trade hard tackles. Most of the time, these tackles usually have nasty outcomes.
In the Jubilee War, Ruto is the most affected one. The party removed most of his supporters from crucial senate positions. Unfortunately, more is yet to come.
The Deputy President watches the drama from the sidelines. He does not engage Uhuru’s supporters. Additionally, he only confides a few people.
Ruto recently met a few of his supporters. However, the details of the said meeting are unknown. There are claims that the Deputy President will announce his future and that of his supporters in the Jubilee Party.
Deputy President William Ruto has been donating food and essential items to the vulnerable people in society. He recently gave food in Kikuyu. Unfortunately, some people got sick, and doctors had to hospitalize them for consuming toxic food.
However, it turned out that someone else had clandestinely distributed contaminated food in bags similar to the ones DP Ruto used.
Ruto’s supporters claim that it was Uhuru’s supporters who did it. They said that those in the Kieleweke group are trying to sabotage Ruto’s efforts. However, the police have not made any arrests to date.
The Deputy President’s spokesman says that William Ruto is not bothered about the fake news and online hashtags.
“He knows they are fake and a product of desperate political opponents who cannot challenge his performance record in public service and merely resort to a hopeless fake news campaign,” Emmanuel Taalam said.
Sadly, Jubilee has gone into dirty politics. Fake news has also become the norm in Jubilee.
