Kikuyus will shock everyone in 2022 – Kang’ata claims

Murang’a County Senator Irungu Kang’ata has promised that the Kikuyu community will surprise everyone in the 2022 general elections.

Taking to his Twitter account on Thursday 6 May 2021, the County Senator claimed that the Kikuyu’s would make history in 2022 by voting for an outsider as the next President.

The legislature allied to Deputy President William Ruto’s Tanga Tanga movement used the second in command’s picture as a United Democratic Alliance (UDA) presidential candidate to suggest that the Kikuyu’s vote him in the next general elections.

Kang’ata also made it clear that their ultimate goal is to have DP William Ruto ascend to power and replace President Uhuru Kenyatta.

“Our ultimate goal is to have this man in the statehouse. We will be the first generation of Kikuyus to make history and support a non-Kikuyu by way of non-violence and democratic means. In adherence to what our boss told us: “Yangu kumi, ya Ruto Kumi,” read his statement.

Kang’ata changed his allegiance to the second in command after he was impeached as the Senate Majority Whip in February this year.

This was after he wrote a letter to President Uhuru Kenyatta warning him that the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) was not popular as the BBI team might think in the Mt. Kenya region and had slim chances of sailing through if a referendum is held.

DP Ruto has been very vocal about succeeding the head of state and becoming the fifth President of the country.

This has seen him travel across the country, popularizing his Hustler nation movement but had to stop after President Uhuru banned political gatherings due to COVID-19.

In September last year, Laikipia Woman Representative Cate Waruguru urged all politicians who want to run for the country’s top seat to go and seduce the Mt. Kenya region because the region is like a beautiful girl.

Waruguru challenged all the aspirants to visit the Mt. Kenya region and sell their agendas if they want to win the elections.

She added that the region had been depicted as rich, but it also has its own problems and needs a leader who will address its issues as well.

She stressed out that the people of Mount Kenya will not be ruled by greedy individuals who think they can just ascend to power and start dictating to them on who should lead them.
