Sources have revealed that Deputy President William Ruto is considering Mwangi Kuiunjuri for his running mate position. Additionally, the Deputy intends to introduce the chief minister’s post if he wins the elections in 2022. This way, he can accommodate the political bigwigs in his camp.
Reports show that Ruto’s allies are agreeable to the proposal of having Mwangi Kiunjuri as Ruto’s running mate. Kiunjuri is the TPS party leader and former Agriculture Minister. Despite being agreeable to the proposal, Ruto’s supporters have not settled on Kiunjuri as the running-mate.
Deputy President William Ruto recently announced that he would vie for the presidency using the United Democratic Party ticket. This announcement came days after Uhuru Kenyatta shoved him out of the Jubilee party by announcing plans to form a coalition with ODM.
As Ruto crafts his dream team, several heavyweights in the hustler movement seeking to capture his attention.
Emmanuel Talam, Ruto’s director of communication, said that Ruto is currently focusing on firming up his ‘hustlers economic blueprint
“It is not his priority to distribute or share positions. He is busy now working on an economic plan for the country. That is the reason why he is engaging all leaders from the entire country on this journey,” Talam said.
