Trouble seems to be brewing everyday in the Jubilee party. On 2nd September, Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen revealed a shocking incident. The incident involves President Uhuru Kenyatta and Deputy President William Ruto.
Speaking to Jeff Koinange in an interview, Kipchumba Murkomen said that the President kicked the Deputy Presidentg out of a house in Mombasa.
“What became of Uhuru Kenyatta that today he chased William Ruto from a house in Mombasa. He is the same person who has been ordering the arrests of those that support DP Ruto,” Murkomen said.
Murkomen then went ahead to narrate how together with the President and Deputy President, they flew to Nakuru to reassure their supporters. This happened after the Chief Justice, David Maraga, nullified the election results.
Relationship gone sour
Murkomen said that up to date, he does not understand what caused the relationship of the two leaders to reach where it is right now.
“What is this one sin that washes away all the good things DP Ruto has done for the President?” Murkomen questioned.
The former Senate Majority Leader also listed a good number of things that Deputy President has done so far. One of the things he talked about was how DP Ruto made the unexpected choice to back the President during the 2013 general elections.
The vocal senator claimed that the President is sidelining his deputy. Additionally, he sad that the President is using the Covid-19 pandemic as an excuse.
“He hasn’t been inviting him to very important meetings nor has he been giving him any task. Let us stop trying to hide behind diplomacy, the fact is that the President is persecuting his deputy,” Murkomen said.
Kimani Wamatangi, the Kiambu Senator, was also present in the interview. He urged Murkomen not to use inflammatory words.
“As my very good friend and your elder, I urge you to exercise restrain from using inflammatory words such as suggesting that the president is suffering from inferiority complex. This will only make things harder,” he said.
