Former Nasa principals Raila Odinga, Musalia Mudavadi, and Kalonzo Musyoka have hinted that they might reunite soon.
For the first time, Raila spoke about a Nasa reunion on Thursday. He urged the other Nasa principals to reunite for the 2022 general elections. Raila said that for the country to work together, they need to work together.
Raila spoke during the funeral of former Gem MP Jakoyo Midiwo. Both Kalonzo Musyoka and Musalia Mudavadi were present.
The ODM leader said that for the benefit of Kenyans, the leaders needed to put aside their ethnic origins.
“Jakoyo’s spirit should work to unite us going forward,” Raila said.
Currently, the ODM party is in talks with Uhuru’s Jubilee to form a coalition. However, the coalition talks had raised concerns that there was no way the leaders could revive Nasa.
On Tuesday, Mudavadi, Kalonzo, and Wetangula held a 2-hour meeting at a Nairobi hotel to discuss the calls for a reunion. They later released a press statement noting that they would each consult with their various parties before deciding Nasa’s future.
At Midiwo’s funeral, Mudavadiseemed inclined to work with Raila again.
“As we move forward, we shouldwork together and build bridges. I am sure we will find good solutions for Kenyans,” Mudavadi said.
