Presidential Aspirant, Mukhisa Kituyi, denies sexual assault claims

Presidential aspirant Dr. Mukhisa Kituyi has denied the reports that he sexually assaulted a woman after rejecting his sexual advances.

Dr. Kituyi, speaking to the People Daily, confirmed that he had gotten a police report against him for assault but denied ever committing the offense.

‘Claims not true’

“Someone had written a report claiming that I assaulted her, but that is not true,” Kituyi said, “I’ve never beaten any woman in my life, nor do I have any intention to ever do it at any given time. We sorted out the case, and it was withdrawn.”

However, Nyali OCS, Albert Chebii, refuted Kituyi’s statement that the case had been withdrawn. He told People Daily that the matter remained under investigation.

The reports come as Dr. Kituyi traverses across the country as he campaigned for his presidential bid.

Rebuffed his sexual advances

According to the People Daily, the woman claimed that Dr. Mukhisa Kituyi had allegedly assaulted her after she rebuffed his sexual advances. She filed her case at the Nyali Police Station under OB number 10/22/05/2021.

“Assault reported to the police station by one Diana Opemi Lutta, who had submitted a report today, on the 22nd day of May 2021 at 0200hrs,” read the report, “A person known to her assaulted her within Tamarind village, namely Mukhisa Kituyi, whom she claims is her boyfriend.”

The woman alleged that Dr. Mukhisa Kituyi pushed her from the bed the allegedly rained blows on her. The woman claimed that she fell and allegedly broke her knee.

The police report indicated that they issued her with a P3 form, after which they asked her to seek medical attention. The lady went to the Coast General Hospital.

Presidential bid

Dr. Mukhisa Kituyi left his job at the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD). He was the Secretary-General but resigned a few months early to launch his Presidential bid.

He has been traversing the country, selling his presidential candidature, and had been on the coast for a week in May.
