Police officers in Nanyuki are probing an incident in which three members of the same family are said to be missing.
In a report featured on Citizen TV’s prime time news on Tuesday, November 12, Joyce Syombua and her two children, Shanice Maua (10) and Prince Michael (5) are said to have gone missing on October 26, 2019.
The incident took place after the three visited Major Peter Mugure, father to the two children and estranged husband to Ms Syombua at the Nanyuki Barracks the previous day.
They are said to have gone to the Nanyuki stage, with the aim of boarding a matatu to Nairobi.
Nanyuki DCIO Jacob Mureithi confirmed the incident and stated that the police are looking into 4NT Sacco, a public service company, Â where the 3 are said to have gone in a bid to board a matatu to Nairobi.
“The husband was only in good terms with the wife for sometime,” Mureithi stated.
On the other hand, a driver attached to the SACCO refuted claims of having ferried the three to Nairobi.
“We do not ferry clients at night, the vehicle that brought Syombua’s phone was on private duty,” one of the drivers in the sacco stated regarding a phone that was in question.
Close family and friends reported the matter to the police, asking them to probe the incident.
